Oil Change Interval-As Needed

Oil changes are extremely important to the health of your vehicle. They're the first item up on your Ram 2500 service schedule, though there's no exact interval for oil changes. Follow your Oil Change Indicator System and check your engine oil once a month as a precaution.

At every oil change interval as indicated by the system, change the oil and the oil filter. At this point, you should also rotate the tires and inspect the battery and brake pads.

20,000 Miles or 2 Years

At 20,000 miles or 2 years-whichever comes first-your Ram 2500 will be due for service again. At this point, you should replace the cabin air filter. This will help keep the air that cycles into and throughout your cabin fresh and free from contaminants. Repeat every 20,000 miles or 2 years thereafter.

30,000 Miles or 3 Years

At this maintenance interval, your Ram 2500 needs a new engine air filter. This helps keep your engine running smoothly and keeps the dirt and dust out. You should also inspect the transfer case fluid at this time. The fluid keeps the parts in your truck's transfer case lubricated and cool.

60,000 Miles or 6 Years

As you'd expect, you should inspect the transfer case fluid again at this interval. Every 60,000 miles or 6 years, though, you should also change the fluid if you use your Ram 2500 for frequent heavy towing or as a fleet vehicle. If not, just check the fluid and confirm that it's still in good shape.

100,000 Miles or 10 Years

This is a significant milestone in your ownership journey! Every 100,000 miles or 10 years, replace your spark plugs to make sure your Ram 2500 continues to start every day when you slide behind the wheel. You should inspect your PCV valve and replace it if needed, too.

150,000 Miles or 10 Years

At this final interval in your Ram 2500 service schedule cycle, you need to flush and replace the engine coolant. This fluid absorbs heat from the engine and circulates it back to the radiator to prevent your engine from overheating.
