The important thing to note with the Wrangler is that there are many variants to choose from, which all offer different levels of performance. As for the engine specs, you have some options. Common among the four primary models, Sahara, Rubicon, Sport, and Sport S, is the 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 cylinder engine, which delivers up to 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

The eTorque Mid-Hybrid System delivers low-end torque for extra power out of the gate. At slightly less horsepower, but with 295 lb-ft of torque, you can select the available 2.0-liter turbo engine for better off-road capability. Lastly is the newly available 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6, which brings 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque to the table. Depending on what you go with, you can expect between 17 to 21 city MPG city and 22 to 29 highway MPG. Automatic Engine Start Stop functionality further assists with fuel efficiency.

Towing Capacity

As with engines, you can also expect different towing capacities depending on the type of Wrangler you buy. Fortunately, all of them allow you to bring a variety of gear along with you!  

A two-door Wrangler can tow up to 2,000 pounds, while a four-door can haul up to 3,500 pounds. In either case, you have heavy-duty hooks on the front and rear, a seven-pin and four-wired harness, programmable aux switches, maintenance-free batteries, and more. The four-wheel-drive systems too automatically assist you with delivering torque and shifting from two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive based on the terrain, so you always maintain optimal traction.
